It lies along the River Deben, with a population of about 11,000.

Woodbridge is close to the most important Anglo-Saxon site in the United Kingdom, the Sutton Hoo burial ship. With 1100 years of recorded history, the town has retained a variety of historical architecture, the area was under Roman occupation for 300 years following Queen Boadicca's failed rebellion in 59 A.D. but there is little evidence of the Romans' presence. When the Roman soldiers were recalled to Rome in 410 A.D., there was a substantial Anglo-Saxon (Germanic) settlement. It was the Angles who gave East Anglia its name.

The town has been a centre for boat-building, rope-making and sail-making since the Middle Ages. Edward III and Sir Francis Drake had fighting ships built in Woodbridge.

Although I started my working life boat-building ( not in the Middle Ages! ) the only boats I could see were in the distance on the River Deben.

On my first visit to this stunning kitchen, I was taking aback with the striking walnut cabinetry and the cerise paintwork.

After much discussion a program of works was coordinated, which would involve substantial remodelling of the curved island and some of the wall units, which was all to be undertaken prior to the major transformation.

As with all kitchen refurbishments, the first job is to undertake rigorous preparation, which always includes degreasing and sanding all the areas which are to be painted.

Once I'm satisfied that all the preparation is complete the units, doors, drawers have the first of two adhesion primers applied, this is the followed by an undercoat primer and after a final de-nib, the two top coats are applied.
